Jesus?

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life".
John 3:16

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17 NIV

Without Christ as our savior, the Bible tells us that sin has separated us from a holy God . Compared to Him our righteousness's is like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6)  and we stand guilty before a Him (Romans 3:10-12). While you might consider yourself ‘good’ compared to most people, how do you measure up against God’s law? Have you ever told the smallest lie? Then you are a liar. “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”

Romans 3:23 says

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

But if we keep reading onto verse 24 it says,

Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Romans 5:6-8(NLT) expands this even more when it says ...

6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for our sin for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. Through His death and resurrection on the cross we now can have forgiveness from guilt and shame, wholeness and eternal life.

Romans 6:23 NLT -  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

To be made whole, or to be saved is to submit to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. It is a turning from our old ways and turning to Jesus, to ask Him for forgiveness from our sins and to give us new life in Him.

TAKE THE next step

Romans 10:9-10 NLT says

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Salvation is a free gift to us and it is an empowerment to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to all humanity.

If you don’t know Jesus, having Him as Your Lord and Saviour, it is as simple and powerful as praying this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you for giving Your life for me and taking all my sin and shame on the cross. Thank you for Your unconditional love. I need Your grace to change me and forgive me. I accept You as my Lord and my Saviour. I believe You are now living inside me. Help me to live my life for You, loving others as Your love and grace changes me. AMEN.

If you have prayed this prayer you have now become a Christian (a child of God and follower of Jesus Christ).

and are accepted into the family of God. and it is an empowerment to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to the rest of His creation.
